I found a couple of new resources that both deal with job creation. (Thank you Aspen Institute for pointing out these resources.)
The title of the first resource is "A Market Solution to Job Creation and Opportunity: Social Enterprise". "Social enterprises" are defined as "businesses that create jobs with the explicit purpose of employing low-income people facing multiple barriers to employment and generating revenue to offset costs" and are related to transitional jobs programs. You can find the resource at http://www.bigideasforjobs.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/1a_Javits_Report_Entrepreneurship.pdf
The second resource is "Leveraging Anchor Institutions for Local Job Creation and Wealth Building". "Anchor institutions" are defined as place-based institutions, rooted in their locality and unlikely to move, such as hospitals, colleges, museums, and municipal governments. They are usually non-profits and are significant employers in their regions. The link to the resource is http://www.bigideasforjobs.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Dubb_Howard_Full-Report1.pdf
