Learning more about Differentiated Instruction and Lesson Planning with LINCS

Disability in Adult Education Community Members,

LINCS has just opened a new course through the Learning Portal, entitled, "Differentiated Instruction and Lesson Planning".   You can learn more and enroll here.

This course will encourage you to share your experiences and insights as you learn about and practice applying Differentiated Instruction (DI).  According to Dr. Carol Ann Tomlinson, a leader in the field of DI, “In differentiated classrooms, teachers provide specific ways for each individual to learn as deeply as possible as quickly as possible, without assuming one student’s road map for learning is identical to anyone else’s” (Tomlinson, 2014).

Hopefully this speaks to your experience with learners with disabilities.  How do you define differentiated lesson planning and instruction in your program?  What are the 'key ingredients' that make it work for your teachers and learners?  Share your definitions here, and consider joining the DI course today!

Best,

Mike Cruse
