Let's Get Started!

Hi Everyone, and welcome to the new community!

I know this is is very different, but we must explore it together to even know what our questions are! And in order to explore it, we must put some stuff on here to explore! I am starting this discussion thread with some ideas about what to do first.

Try these quick getting-started tasks:

  1. Fill out your profile:  Click on MyLINCS at the top on the blue bar. Then click on the Profile tab under your name. Fill out the information and click on Save.
  2. Add a picture and set your default settings:  Click on MyLINCS at the top on the blue bar. Then click on Notification Settings, which is under the picture box in the upper right corner. Then click on Edit Your Notification Settings. On this page you can upload a picture (please do!!) and set the default on how you get the notices. I suggest that for now, you set it to send you an email immediately. This will work as close to our old list as possible by sending you a regular email every time a message is posted.
  3. Reply to this post and tell us how it is going, or ask a question.

Thanks everyone!

Julie

P.S. Click on the Comment button at the bottom to reply! You must put in a subject line. You can just put "ditto" if you are replying with the same subject. We are trying to make that an automatic copy of the original subject line! Then hit save at the bottom of that.

No problems signing up or logging on ........ now if I only had a picture to add..... but don't want to scare anyone!

Haha! Well, as you see, mine is nothing to win any contests! :)  Crop one from a family picture, then you look like you're genuinely yourself!

Thought I'd try another type of image for my picture and it seems to work.  Once I figured out that I had to log-in after registering in order to add to the profile info I got squared away in no time - thanks for getting us off to a good start Julie!!    -shb

Hi Folks,

I have found that if I log into the LINCS Community in the morning, then I don't have to log in again each time I go to check it. So It CAN function very much like our discussion list. For example, if I get a message in my inbox from <LINCS-Community-do-not-reply...> then I can just click on the Read more link to see the message and, from there, see any others. I am still logged in, so I don't have to keep doing it.

I think this will help a LOT!!!
