Online Course: Project-Based Science Instruction for Career Pathways

Module #3: Mapping Science Education to Career Paths

This course explores connections between science content knowledge and how adults use science in their daily lives, especially in work and career-related contexts. The course is self-paced and features three modules: (1) Using Project-Based Learning to Connect Science Instruction to Daily Life; (2) Preparing Adults for STEM Careers via Project-Based Learning; and (3) Mapping Science Education to Career Paths.

The third module provides a sample ABE science curriculum that incorporates project-based learning. Please use this thread to discuss incorporating the websites below into the project. What other websites might related to the sample lesson?

Additionally, please share your ideas about instructional planning, including incorporating the eight characteristics of effective project-based learning,  the eight scientific practices, and the characteristics of adult learners.

These sites could be added to give resources for specifics that effect or are interesting to certain groups within the class. Also, students may be able to find resources that the teacher has not found. A whole lesson can be given about credible sources and how to discriminate about sources and then finding valuable information about these sites and how they lead to career paths.
