March reflections, Coming up in April...

Hello Integrating Technology Colleagues,

March was an active month in our group as we welcomed 7 new members. We now have over 1960 members, and we already have 17 new members who have joined us in April!  Two of our new members have already introduced themselves: Roslyn Haley, and James Painchaud. I hope more new members -- and others here who haven't introduced themselves yet -- will go to https://community.lincs.ed.gov/discussion/members-introductions and tell us about themselves.

There were many comments in March from people taking  the LINCS free, individually-paced, 4-hour online course, Integrating Technology in the Adult Education Classroom. You can find this course in the LINCS Learning Portal.

Upcoming in April is a great interview and discussion with Integrating Technology member, Dr. Jen Vanek, the Director of Digital Learning and Research, and Director of the IDEAL Consortium, in the EdTech Center at World Education, Inc.  Jen is a lead author of the IDEAL Consortium Distance Education and Blended Learning Handbook.  There is an announcement about this discussion here that includes two LINCS Resource documents that we will be discussing with Jen. She will unpack New Models for Distance Classes in Adult Education and introduce and discuss the IDEAL Distance Education and Blended Learning Handbook. Please take a look at the announcement, and consider posting your questions as replies to it. Jen can address your questions on April 23rd, and the discussion may continue about these two highly informative documents after that date.

Comments

Hello! I just thought I'd make a small post here -- I did post in the Introductions, but I don't think you have noticed yet, Mr. Rosen? I've also tried sending you some emails but perhaps they are not going through.

I'm happy to be in the group and (as I am, at least nominally, a distance learning program coordinator) I'm very much looking forward to hearing Ms. Vanek's comments. Perhaps I'll stop lurking and even post some of my own questions.

Hello Royce,

Thanks for posting your introduction. I am glad you have joined us, and looking forward to seeing your questions in our discussion with Jen Vanek here on April 23rd. Please feel free to post your questions any time from now through early in the day on April 23rd.
