At the COABE conference earlier this week in Orlando, Florida, I saw several presentations that referred to mathematical mindsets or the related concept of growth mindset. If you (or someone you know) attended the conference and want to continue to explore mathematical mindsets, consider joining the LINCS microgroup Book Study: Mathematical Mindsets by Jo Boaler. I'm very happy to see that participation in the group has significantly increased since the conference!
If you are interested in this group, we start the online discussion on April 17, so now is the time to get the book and start reading!

Amy,
How far should we be by April 17? At least through the forward or Chapter 1?
Thanks,
Brooke
:-) Just wondering...
... but my real reason to post: here's a professional development opportunity for applying growth mindset to math for learners with learning disabilities.

Whether or not you attended the COABE conference.
Questions for Chapters 1 - 3 will be posted for the week of April 17. Then the questions for chapters 4 - 5 will be posted the next Monday.
