Moving Pathways Forward Podcast Series

Many of you have already accessed the first of Judith Alamprese's podcast interviews, which are part of the Moving Pathways Forward series.  If you haven't yet had a chance to listen to this short, informative podcast, I encourage you to take a listen here.  For those of you who have already listened to the podcast, I am interested in your thoughts on a couple of points made in this conversation.

  • Judith and Debra speak about the challenges in providing guidance to learners when it comes to career advising.  What approaches have you seen be most successful with helping students better understand career pathways decision-making?
  • The speakers also talk about the term contextualized instruction for career pathways.  What does this look like in terms of curriculum and teaching methodologies in 21st century CTE programs?  Judith and Debra talk about "liberty for educators to experiment".  How do you imagine we can promote this idea of experimentation by CTE and career pathways leaders and teachers?
  • Finally, what are your thoughts on applied performance assessment, or competency-based education, as resources for advancing the goals of career pathways programs?
