MPAEA & NMAEA 2014 Conference

Hello all,

The Mountain Plains Adult Education Association (MPAEA) and the New Mexico Adult Education Association (NMAEA) are hosting the 2014 MPAEA Conference this week in Santa Fe, NM.  Over 340 adult educators are in attendance and featured keynote speakers include:

Dr. Brenda Dann-Messier – Federal Perspectives on Transforming Adult Education

Brad Deeds – The Positive Impact of MPAEA and State Associations

Art Ellison – A Call to Action

This year’s conference theme is “Transforming Education – Exceeding the Limits” and LINCS is one of 19 specialty tracks at the conference. The following LINCS sessions were offered as pre-conference sessions:

  • Assisting Struggling Readers and Writers: Using Research-Based Resources to Support Adult Learners – Kathy St. John
  • Components of Numeracy and Algebra: Tools for Engaging Learners in Meaningful Math – Sarah Fearnow

  • Motivating Adult Learners: Self-Efficacy, Goal Setting, and the Learning Environment – Gail Cope
