National Emergency Preparedness Month

Dear Colleagues:

September is National Emergency Preparedness Month.  Adult education teachers (and programs!) can take a few small steps to make sure that you, your students, and families, and communities are ready.  This year’s theme for National Emergency Preparedness Month is:  “Don’t wait.  Communicate.” (see logo below).  Each week of this month focuses on a different type of emergency (e.g., floods, wildfires, hurricanes, and power outages).  The LINCS Science and Adult English Language Learning groups will include posts based on the interests of each group.

Disaster preparedness starts with personal preparedness.  Begin with a Family Communication Plan.  Do you have one?  How could you and your students benefit from this learning activity?
