New Community of Practice Moderator

Hello, Disabilities in Adult Education Group Members,

I want to take a minute to introduce myself as the new moderator for the Disabilities in Adult Education community of practice.  I am excited to be joining you as LINCS continues to grow and develop its community and resources for adult education and workforce development practitioners.

In addition to working with LINCS, I am a Career and Technical Education Resource Specialist with Arlington Public Schools (VA). Previously, I have worked in K-12 education as a special education case manager, where I facilitated transitioning students from across the spectrum of disabilities to post-secondary education, training and employment.  I have also worked as a contractor for the Maryland Department of Rehabilitation Services, conducting vocational evaluations for transition age students (14-21) and adult consumers, across all disability categories.  I look forward to sharing more about these experiences with you, and connecting adult education and adult service providers in our mission to serve the needs of individuals with disabilities, across the lifespan.

Each of you brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our group, and I look forward to getting to know you and learn as a member of this diverse and talented community.  I welcome your comments and suggestions for making our collaboration a meaningful and productive part of your weekly schedule.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me in the coming days and introduce yourself, and your work.  The more that I learn about each of you, the better able I will be to advocate for our needs as a community and work towards the goal of expanding our collective resources, knowledge and opportunities.
