New Math and Numeracy Professional Development Videos on the Media Library of Teaching Skills (MLoTS) Website

Hello Math and Numeracy, and Professional Development Colleagues,

I have just posted some new, and I think quite interesting, briefly annotated numeracy and math professional development video links on the Media Library of Teaching Skills (MLoTS). You might want to check them out here. If you do, please comment on them here, and/or in the comments area below each video on the MLoTS website.

The Media Library of Teaching Skills is a curated collection of free, short adult basic skills (including English for immigrants) professional development videos. There are two different sections. The first includes videos that a colleague and I made in Vermont and Massachusetts of authentic adult education classroom videos, not necessarily as "best practice" videos (although some are), but as engaging examples for professional development discussions of what adult basic skills teachers actually do in their classrooms -- what we describe as "a video window on other adult education teachers' classrooms". The second is a section of annotated links to adult basic skills professional development videos made by others. These may be based on best practices, but they may or may not be authentic classroom videos. I recommend both sections.

The MLoTS website is the largest curated collection of authentic classroom and other adult basic skills professional development videos in North America, possibly the largest in English in the world. I hope you find it useful as a teacher or professional developer, and would love to see your comments about these and other videos on the MLoTS website.
