November is National Diabetes Month in the US

Dear Colleagues:

According to a short video in HealthDay News, a 2011-2012 study found that 12 to 14 percent of adults in the United States had diabetes and another 37 to 38 percent had pre-diabetes.  Those numbers combined represent approximately half of the adult population.  To learn about the study, view the video:   Diabetes Trends.   For an overview of diabetes in the United States view this infographic.  Or, you can see how your state measures up by scrolling your cursor over your state  on this map from the CDC’s Diabetes Home website.

Do you have a "diabetes basics" handout or brochure that you share with your students or hang on a Health & Wellness bulletin board? Most of the brochures that I located are very complex or very busy looking.  Do you have one to suggest?
