PIAAC Results Portal

Hi all,

Another useful site for creating and viewing results of the PIAAC Survey of Adult Competencies is the NCES PIAAC Results Portal. (http://nces.ed.gov/surveys/piaac/results/makeselections.aspx)

The Portal allows you to produce figures and tables that compare the performance of U.S. adults to adults in other participating countries. By selecting options from the sidebar, you can generate a variety of results. You must select one category under "Statistic" (average score, proficiency levels) and one category under "Domain" (literacy, numeracy, problem solving in technology-rich environments) to get started. Select any row in the VIEW RESULTS list to display the corresponding figure and data table. You can then export the data into Excel so you can save or print it. When noted in figures and tables, findings of significance are based on a statistical significance level set at 0.05. However, not all possible comparisons have been tested for significance.  You can customize results and and produce reports for variables which include demographic groups, education, employment, skill use, and health and civic participation.

What types of results would be helpful for you in program planning and management?  How might you use these results?
