Power in Numbers Videos

These videos are a must see!  If you haven't yet had the opportunity to watch them, this is the link:  https://lincs.ed.gov/state-resources/federal-initiatives/power-in-numbers-videos.

They are short videos of student success stories depicting motivation, persistence, and overcoming doubt.  While the focus is on students who have struggled with math, we have all had students who struggle with reading and/or writing, perhaps in addition to math.  These videos are inspiring and are very appropriate for all students.

In our adult high school in Delaware students must complete an argument research paper to graduate.  Many students struggle with this task due to lack of experience with argument writing or generally low writing skills.  These videos will be excellent tools to help student develop persistence to get over the hurdles to complete this paper.  What are some ways you use to motivate your students and help them develop persistence to become effective readers and writers?
