One Week Left to Register for SC20!

Register now for ELL-U's first 2013 Study Circle: Teaching Adult ELL Emergent Readers: Linking Research and Practice (SC20)!

If you have completed the ELL-U online course Teaching ELLs Who Are Emergent Readers (OC02), this study circle is your next step!

Join Pennsylvania teachers and faculty member Allegra Elson in this online study circle, which will bring together teachers of low-literate adult ESL students, learners with little or no first-language literacy. With a special focus on reading development, we will review relevant research and consider implications for the classroom. Through readings, discussion, and reflective tasks, we'll explore promising practices in teaching adult ESL students who are learning to read for the first time.

This study circle will be held in a series of three online sessions on January 11, January 25, and February 8, 2013 from 3:00 - 4:30 PM EST.

Space is limited so register now to secure your place! To register, simply log in to  www.ell-u.org [edited by admin to fix broken link] using your username and password and then visit the Study Circles page in the Academics section. Click on the "Register Now" button underneath the SC20 description.
