Resume-Writing Tips: Lots of Them!

I have just received an email from the president and CEO of Great Resumes Fast, Jessica Hernandez, sharing the information on her site, greatresumesfast.com. I reviewed her "131 Resume Writing Tips-The Most Comprehensive List of Resume Writing Tips on the Internet." Some of the tips will not be useful to ABE students (too sophisticated), but I found several that I apply when teaching resume writing.

Do you teach resume writing? Considering current workplace requirements in federally-funded programs, resume writing can provide valuable and relevant practice in a number of ways: organization, brevity, self discovery, punctuation (for sure!), workplace terms, self-promotion, on and on.

As you review the tips suggested, consider which might be most useful to your students and share your thoughts with us here.

I used to use another site that is not as vast (44 tips...) or as current in some ways. Perhaps you'll find something useful there as well: https://www.dailywritingtips.com/resume-writing-tips/

There are a few OER lesson plans that cover resume writing. If you are interested, holler, and I'll ferret out a few to share here. Leecy (leecywise@gmail.com)
