In search of "on-ramp" or "concurrent" curriculum for auto-detailing

Hello!  We have ABE programs in Minnesota with the opportunity to support ABE-level learners in completing an auto-detailing training program.  If this moves forward, the ABE partner will develop either an "on-ramp" course to equip the participants with the vocabulary and other foundational knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the fast-paced regular training program; and/or teach concurrently with the training, building those skills and knowledge as the participants go through the training.

Do you have or are you aware of any ABE-level curriculum available on auto-detailing that can be freely shared with other ABE programs?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi, Liz -

Thanks for posting about your proposed auto-detailing program, and the need for ABE-level curriculum to support learners.  While I don't have direct access to the materials you're looking for, I'd suggest reaching out to your state's Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program, to see if they offer career training in the field, and what curriculum they use.

In Maryland, I have worked with state VR to support qualified learners in accessing two auto body related training curricula.

You can find some general information about each at the hyperlinks above.  You may also be able to contact Maryland's VR offices and request additional resources.

Good luck on your proposal, and please keep us posted as you move forward.

Best,
