Simulations for teaching science

Science teaching colleagues,

I wonder if you use online simulations to help students learn real science through experiencing it virtually. If you do, please tell us about what simulations you use and how you use them. If you are thinking, "Online simulations, what does this mean?" take a look at this demonstration video of a simulation designed to help geology students. http://vimeo.com/78057630 Although it's for college students, it will give you an idea of what a science learning simulation is like.

Another online simulation, one used by many adult ed science teachers, is the virtual frog dissection. You'll find one at http://www.mhhe.com/biosci/genbio/virtual_labs/BL_16/BL_16.html and another at http://www.froguts.com/ (They have a free preview version at http://www.froguts.com/demo/.)

I am thinking that simulations to teach students how to use microscopes to study cells or micro-organisms might be useful. Anyone know of any good ones?
