Hello colleagues, TIME magazine just announded its 2019 person of the year, the young climate change activitist from Sweden, Greta Thunberg. Thunberg has been a leader in the school strike movement across the globe as young people urge their governments to take the action needed to address climate change. Here is a link to a series of videos and other resources related to young people organizing for climate change.
Recently students asked me if we could focus some lessons on the environment. I plan to draw upon some of these resources to integrate discussions about civic engagement and concerns about the environment.
