Hello colleagues, Patte Bowman's question and the discussion about the Lexile level of the BEST Literacy test got me wondering about the informal tools we use to determine reading skills. In response to Patte, Josh Anderson said he uses the five finger rule. What other tools and processes are members using to determine learners' reading skills? What aspects of reading do you find important to identify?
