Has anyone addressed the new health care law in adult education classes? I would love to hear what kind of help adult learners need, and what resources and strategies you have used to help them.
I am guessing that common issues may include:
- How to enroll in insurance for the first time
- How to understand your insurance
- Finding and using the newly covered preventive services like screenings and counseling for things like diabetes, depression, alcohol misuse, and many more.
This seems like a very good context to use for literacy and ESOL instruction since so many of your students will need to be more familiar with all of this!
