I recently visited Six Flags in Atlanta and was looking up the information about their annual Fright Fest events when I stumbled upon their newest venture called the Fright Fest 30-Hour Coffin Challenge. I was more curious than anything and recalled back in the 90's when local radio stations often had contests where people lived in a car with a bunch of strangers inside a mall for a month or where people had to touch a car at all times for a couple of weeks in order to win the car. I figured this was some variation on that but with a coffin inside the theme park.
In addition to living in a coffin for 30 hours, the contestants also have to complete a series of challenges. Which might be the scariest challenge for you? For your students?

Heidi,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I went online to investigate if all Six Flags do this type of activity and in doing so I uncovered a great link to Math and Science Activities that involve the math and science of roller coasters. Here is the link: https://www.sixflags.com/sites/default/files/SFGA%20Math%20%20Science%20Workbook.pdf
This looks like a lot of fun!

What a great resource you discovered, Brooke!! Thanks for sharing it out to the rest of us.
Wouldn't it be fun to strap a GoPro to our heads and record some of these rides for students and teachers to use?!? It's all in the name of math and science, of course. ; )
