Dear Professional Development Colleagues:
Springtime is the season for renewing, revitalizing, and advancing our own practices! As the PD season swings into high gear, we can use this forum to maximize our learning -- collectively -- by reflecting upon and sharing what we’re teaching and learning through professional development.
For example, the 2015 TESOL International Convention and English Language Expo was held March 25-28, 2015. Did you go? Did you present? What did you learn? The 2015 COABE Conference is coming up in Denver, April 21-24, 2015. A number of regional and state conferences and online opportunities are also on the horizon.
What are you planning to attend, what are you presenting, and what do you hope to gain from the experience? Of the learning opportunities you’ve attended or presented, which have been more beneficial to you and why?
Please take some time now, and throughout April, to reflect on your PD plans, PD teaching and learning experiences, and opportunities or challenges you see on the horizon as a result.
