If students can listen to or read a lesson outside of the classroom, they will learn faster. WhatsApp is perfect in this respect.
Songs are good because students like them and listen to them independently.
To teach the simple and continuous/progressive present tense just send everybody Singin ' In The Rain! Then see who can sing along.
So with one song there is a vocabulary lesson, grammar lesson and listening / reciting / singing lesson!!!
