This letter was written by S. Todd Stolp, M.D., the Tuolumne County Health Officer, to the California State School Boards Association to advocate for including some health literacy standards as part of the Next Generation Science Standards. It explains concisely and persuasively why health literacy and health-related science content are important to include in K-12 curricula.
