Using STEM Education to Empower Impoverished Young Adults

Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) COO, Ebony Webber, and National Parliamentarian, Dr. Jeneen Abrams, share a story of empowering students in poverty through science and agriculture education. With an eye to addressing the shortage of underrepresented students studying in STEM fields, as well as employed in them, MANRRS leverages the extension and outreach traditions of agriculture education to engage minority students in STEM in action--from growing food to getting it on our tables.

If you are looking for ways to engage your underrepresented students in STEM (adding an "A" for agriculture!), you can learn more about MANRRS, their program's approach and successes in this presentation.
