A recent tip from ChooseMyPlate got me thinking about the literacy and numeracy skills needed for meal planning and grocery shopping. The Hubbs Center Adult Basic Education has a unit that weaves literacy, numeracy, nutrition, and consumer awareness skills together. It ends with a culminating grocery store shopping simulation for students.
