The National Center for Family Literacy Online Courses for Adult Educators

The National Center for Family Literacy (NCFL) supports the implementation of standards-based education with a focus on college and career readiness standards that will give adult educators a way to move systematically and sequentially to ensure students have the skills they need to be prepared for postsecondary education and jobs or careers.  In order to meet the professional development needs of adult educators, NCFL has developed two online courses.  The courses are Getting Started with Standards-Based Education* and Using Standards in Adult Education*.

For more information about the courses contact Ann Reynolds at areynolds@famlit.org at NCFL’s training department, (502)584-1133, ext. 149.

*The development of the two online courses was guided by the expertise of the Kentucky Adult Education staff and made possible bye KYAE, Council on Postsecondary Education funding.  The courses are based on Standards-in-Action: Innovations for Standards-Based Education, US Department of Education, Office of Vocational and Adult Education, 2009.
