The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship invites Hispanic Universities and Colleges Representatives to a webinar to learn about the Registered Apprenticeship-College Consortium (RACC) and the application process to become a member. Two-and four-year postsecondary education providers are looking for ways to attract a new pool of degree seekers who desire flexibility in obtaining new career opportunities and a greater earning potential. We would like for you to consider joining the RACC as a way to strengthen these opportunities for students.

Credit for prior learning is among the hottest educational issues facing today’s academic institutions. Leading colleges across the country are joining the RACC to facilitate the transfer of the U.S. Department of Labor’s rigorous Registered Apprenticeship completion certificate towards college credit among RACC members. This innovative partnership was launched by Vice President Biden during the 2014 American Association of Community Colleges’ annual meeting. Today we have 226 colleges in the RACC. The partnership supports increasing articulation between Registered Apprenticeship program sponsors and Hispanic colleges to create a new pipeline of degree seekers and enhance the competitiveness of American industry by enlarging the pool of highly-trained workers that possess in-demand skills and competencies.

During the webinar, we also want your input on how Hispanic Universities and Colleges can partner with the Registered Apprenticeship Program.
Audience for Webinar: Hispanic Serving Institution Presidents, Deans of Workforce Development, and Career Counselors
