This webinar will take a close look at two longstanding programs for improving the success of male students of color. Dr. Emmet Campos and Mr. Art Barboza will show how their innovative programs build a collective community of support and foster a culture of success among male students of color. Dr. Campos directs Mentoring to Achieve Latino Educational Success (known as Project MALES) and the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color (known as TECMSC) through the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Barboza is the founder and coordinator of the Striving Black Brothers Coalition at Chabot College. Webinar participants will enjoy an enlightening glimpse into these two programs and learn strategies they can share with their colleagues at their home institutions.

This event is part of the Technical Assistance for Minority Serving Community Colleges Initiative, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education.

Featured speakers include:

Emmet Campos, Ph.D. Director, Project MALES/TECMSC
