During a webinar to be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 4:00 pm Eastern, professor Doreen Ewert will first outline the many benefits of focusing language and literacy instruction on relevant content and will demonstrate numerous practical techniques and learning tasks for making content the focus of instruction. Dr. Doreen Ewert is Associate Professor and Director of the Academic English for Multilingual Students Program in the Department of Rhetoric and Language at the University of San Francisco. Her teaching and research focus on several aspects of second language learning and teaching for pre-academic and matriculated adult language learners: language teacher development, curriculum and program design and implementation, second language literacy development, content-based instruction, extensive reading, and integrated task assessment.
