DATE SAVER: Week of Dec. 6 --A Learner-Centered Approach to Teaching Conversation -- Discussion with David Kehe!

Hello colleagues, Save the date for an upcoming online discussion focused on a learner-centered approach to teaching conversation skills led by expert David Kehe. David and his wife Peggy Dustin Kehe have authored many popular books, including ones focused on teaching conversation. During this discussion, David will highlight why focusing on conversation strategies is so essential to supporting English learners' to enhance their speaking and listening skills. He will also share many practical instructional tools for teaching conversation.  

This discussion will take place right here in our community the week of December 6th.

David Kehe's Bio:

David Kehe has been teaching adult English learners and coordinating programs, doing teacher training and mentoring for over 35 years at colleges and universities in four countries including in Africa with the Peace Corps. He has co-authored nine textbooks, including the award-winning Conversation Strategies. He has an MAT from The School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont.  Currently, he is faculty emeritus at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, Washington.

David has taught many international students but has also worked with many learners who are immigrants and refugees attending ESL classes at the community college.
