Follow-up with Rachel Riggs -- AI for English Teachers and Learners!

Hello colleagues, First, I want to thank my friend, Rachel Riggs, Tech Advisor at World Education, for a fantastic presentation on using artificial intelligence in the English language acquisition classroom to benefit both teachers and learners. I also want to thank the participants who shared some great AI resources.

If anyone would like a copy of Rachel's slides, you can contact her directly at  <rachel_riggs@worlded.org>.  In addition, everyone should sign up for World Education's EdTech newsletter which you can do HERE

During this presentation, Rachel focused on the following questions:

  • What is AI and why does it matter?
  • Teaching with AI: What tools are available to adult educators?
  • Teaching for AI: How can AI be used in an adult English language acquisition classroom to boost AI literacy?

Rachel shared a great many resources including some resources from the EdTech Ctr at World Ed:

General Purpose Tools

Tools designed for Teachers

Content Creation Tools

Study Tools

Accessibility Tools

Here's a wonderful bonus from our friend Vi Hawes!

There is so much to explore! Have fun, everyone, and tell us what AI tools are working for you and the learners you serve.  Also, please post your questions!

Cheers, Susan Finn Miller
