Lesson Planning for Day Laborers

I am working with volunteer ESL tutors in a class the agency I work for recently started  for day laborers in one of our suburbs.  The class is all male, ages 19 to 53, all Spanish speakers from Mexico and Central America, all at low beginner/beginner level.  If anyone has a commercial curriculum suggestion, I would appreciate your recommendations.  The tutors and I are meeting once a week and building lesson plans as we go.  I have been scouring all sources I can think of for appropriate content for this group.    Thanks for any help, advice, suggestions or cautions.

You don't mention specifically what type of day labor your students work in but the Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center has ESL lesson plans for several areas including landscaping, construction and painting, some at a basic level. Maybe some of these could be modified for your students.
