LINCS Event: “Talk Amongst Yourselves”: Building up to Student Facilitated Conversations-- August 3 @ 3:00 ET

Hello colleagues, I'm so excited to invite everyone to a special LINCS event focused on supporting English learners' conversation skills. I don't know about you, but a vast majority of learners I've worked with over the years have told me that improving conversation skills is a main goal. Yet, keeping student-led conversation going can be a challenge!

Two expert teachers from Minnesota, Jessica Jones and Liddy Rich, will share their tips and strategies for enhancing student-facilitated conversations.

Participants in this live session will be able to:

-Identify and describe 3 conversational skills that can be explicitly taught and practiced.
-Describe activities that can introduce and practice individual conversation skills.
-Create a routine of conversation practice in which learners engage directly with each other.

“Talk Amongst Yourselves”: Building up to Student Facilitated Conversations will be held on August 3 at 3:00 ET.

Here's the link to register

Feel free to share your own experiences with teaching conversations as well as to post any questions you'd like to pose for Jessica and Liddy and colleagues here in our community.

Cheers, Susan Finn Miller
