Hello colleagues, I'm uploading some examples of an instructional routine called conversation grid which engages learners in authentic communication. This routine reflects Communicative Language Teaching which we are talking about in this discussion in our community. I used conversation grid in almost every class I taught, especially with learners at lower levels.
With higher level learners, I enjoyed creating conversation grids to engage learners in using the academic language drawn from the texts we were using in class in meaningful interactions with one another. You'll see one example of what I mean in this document.
Please feel free to use or adapt any of these for your own class! And of course to create your own conversation grids!
