In this session, participants will learn how to integrate technology tools, strategies, and best practices into their math instruction. Participants will view three basic lessons, three digital versions of those lessons, and then three Power Lessons that take the best of both and combine them together. They will also have an opportunity to explore math tech tools and integrate 1-2 of those tools in their own instruction.

Participants will be able to define and understand the basic components of HyperDocs and how to integrate them into Adult Ed Science instruction.

See you there!

Nell,

I'm looking forward to all the learning that will happen during COABE. I will be presenting the following with amazing colleagues of mine (within and outside of World Education Inc.)

  • April 11th, 11:45am-1:00pm -  A Focus on Equity: Learner-Centered Approaches to Instruction with Digital Technologies (Co-Presenter(s): Corina Kasior, Cynthia Peters, Mary Gaston)
    • A focus on equity demands that adult education delivery is learner-centered from multiple avenues of development. This is particularly true with instruction and programming that draws on digital technologies. Exploration of current innovative strategies can inspire and positively influence other networks to be empowered to do the same. This panel discussion will explore current learner-centered design efforts driven or supported by technology in three different areas: program data, curriculum content, and learner-voice. In-person and Virtual presentation
  • April 13th, 8:00am-9:15am DRAW together: Research- and Practitioner-Informed Resources for Digital Literacy and Resilience (Primary Presenter: Rachel McDonnell, Jobs for the Future Co-Presenter(s): Jamie Harris)
    • Digital resilience—the awareness, skills, agility, and confidence necessary to be empowered users of new technologies, actively participate in society, and adapt to the ever-changing labor market—is increasingly essential for socio-economic mobility. Digital Resilience in the American Workforce (DRAW) is a federal initiative to curate and create flexible, evidence-based resources for building the digital resilience of adult learners. Participants will explore the resources we’ve identified and inform the materials that will be developed through DRAW.
