Over 15 years ago many of us encouraged adult educators to incorporate the internet into their classes. There were many discussions but it seemed sometimes there was no progress.
Then 2020 hit us over the head and all of a sudden every teacher was forced to use Zoom, with mixed results.
But some people flourished and now experience has shown that the internet can be used as a good Teachers' Aide! It appears as if most students have smart phones and nearly everybody is using WhatsApp, etc.
I have received reports that a Zoom class plus homework on WhatsApp actually leads to faster learning and higher grades.
I have learned that a variety of online resources acts to encourage students to seek out their own favorite sites.
So...yes I think we can Bridge the Proverbial Digital Divide....and it is a lot of fun!!
