AALPD Webinar: Learning Communities as a PD Model - February 9, 2024

The Association of Adult Literacy Professional Developers (AALPD) invites you to our next webinar.

Date/Time: Friday, February 9, 2024, 2:00 - 3:00 PM EST

Topic: Learning Communities as a PD Model

Description: If you want to get started offering learning communities, AALPD is here to support you. Hear from experienced practitioners as they share their models and resources.

Join Sudie Whalen of the American Institutes for Research (AIR) as she shares her experience with job-embedded professional development through professional learning communities (PLCs): learning from each other, sharing resources and practices, and pilot testing new approaches collaboratively.

Then hear from the Illinois Professional Development Network. They have been offering successful virtual learning communities (VLCs) for ten years. New VLC models and topics have been created to evolve and scale this type of collaborative, engaging, learning opportunity. Presenters will share highlights, examples of transference of learning, and a peek into authentic participant work. Attendees will be encouraged to share, ask questions, and take away ideas to support their professional development offerings.

Illinois PDN team: Laura Sherwood, Jenny Siegfried, Anita Kerr, Amber Fornaciari, Erin Vobornik, Tara Schwab, Sarah Goldammer
