Team Teaching an Integrated Curriculum to Accelerate Learning is an online course from World Education starting on October 8th. We are still accepting registrations, so sign up today at http://elearningpd.worlded.org/team-teaching-an-integrated-curriculum/
This course is designed to support an instructional team – a college instructor and a basic skills instructor working together in the classroom delivering college content and just-in-time foundational skill building. This team approach provides low skilled adults the foundational skills and workforce skills they need to succeed along their chosen career pathways. Each module’s discussions and assignments should help guide your team through the complicated process of working together as professionals. After taking the course, participants are invited to join a virtual learning community hosted by the National College Transition Network. It includes active discussions as well as the archives of learning events, tools, and discussions about topics ranging from integrating career awareness and planning into instruction to co-planning your course to dealing constructively with conflict. This is a place to continue learning, communicating and sharing successes and challenges.
Whether or not you register for Team Teaching an Integrated Curriculum, try our free self-paced introductory course, Team Teaching - Models and Practice. This course can be taken at any time and takes about three hours to complete. It introduces the concept of team teaching, describes six models of team teaching that offer structure and variety in the classroom, and discusses the characteristics of effective instructional teams.
