Offline Office Tutorial Suggestions

Hi--I'm wondering what, if any, computer tutorial programs you may use in your computer classes. Over the Covid period, we updated computers and programs, and my books are out of date. I'd rather go with a computer-based tutorial than with a book as we had before. However, I'm having difficulty locating any tutorial-type programs that are available offline.

Thanks!

Hi.

There are many computer tutorial programs which might be appropriate, but need a bit more information. Do you have any restrictions and is there funding available for this curriculum? Let me know and I can give you some direction. I also hope that our awesome community of practice can share a bit about what programs they are using for digital literacy.

Thanks

I should have been more specific--looking for tutorial programs for Office programs (generally Word and Excel). Yes, we have funding. Previously we have used high school textbooks for Office 2010, but 2010 is gone and the books are not going to be useful.

I've got a message in to a publisher and am waiting to hear back from the rep. If the program looks useful, I'll write about it here.

I highly recommend using Jasperactive with Gmetrix test bank.  I have been using it with my students for 3 years now and they seem to love it.  Students can access it outside of the class and they can work at their own pace.

This looks like a great program. How can your students access it outside of class? Do they have access to a computer lab? And it's a totally offline format?

Tell me more about the testing. Do you offer the compass testing so they can become certified? (I'm not sure how licensing of compass tests is accomplished--is it similar to GED?) I really like this option of having testing available. Thanks for telling me about this--I'll look into it once I know a little more about what you do at your facility.

Thanks!!
