Illinois is currently working on a statewide mapping process, working with statewide partners, to identify any gaps in services that would potentially hinder a successful re-entry. These partners include the Department of Corrections, Department of Human Service, Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Department of Employment Services, the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois Community College Board, and Illinois Department of Juvinele Justice, Department of Rehabillitation Services.
The goal of the mapping is to discuss what happens at re-entry from each agency's perspective. This is an ongoing process in Illinois. Have any states engaged in mapping like this? If so, how did it work out? What were the outcomes?
I'd love to hear from you.
