On March 31, 2023, President Joseph R. Biden proclaimed April 2023 as Second Chance Month and called for observance of the month with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.
What are you doing to recognize Second Chance Month?
As students come home from incarceration adult education can play a vital part in successful reintegration. For the remainder of this month we will be discussing best practices in providing educational support to students transitioning home.
My share out is the use of tutors and mentors on the outside. Individual one-on-one student support can make a huge difference in helping students succeed on the outside. Think about embedding tutors behind and beyond the prison walls to provide educational life-saving support.
