AIR’s Work and Lifelong Learning Program is seeking a Research Associate to join our team in Washington, DC. The Work and Lifelong Learning Program enhances AIR’s role in the national effort to improve workforce performance, career readiness, and adult learning – a goal directly related to our mission. The Work and Lifelong Learning Program’s literacy work encompasses the entire life cycle, including building and maintaining strong reading and writing skills; college and workforce preparedness; workplace literacy demands; assessing literacy levels and remediating difficulties; and more, by applying research-based principles in developing the knowledge, tools, systems, and programs required for maximizing human and organizational potential in the 21st century.

 
• Provides support on technical assistance (TA) projects in the Adult Learning marketing group.
• Supports the development of TA deliverables such as webinar presentations, professional development (PD) modules, and facilitators’ guides on select topics.
• Develops and conducts TA and PD via online learning platforms
• Works on moderately complex assignments under indirect supervision.
• Communicates project support needs and requests to senior management and clientele, provides administrative support where applicable.
• Conducts literature reviews and writes sections of proposals and deliverables.
• Responsible for maintaining and checking the accuracy of data for assigned projects.
• Utilizes external resources to supplement, organize, and contribute to tasks and projects.
• Bachelor’s degree with 3-4 years of relevant work experience in the social sciences or related field or Master’s with 1-3 years of relevant work experience required.
• 1-3 years of adult basic education instruction or program management experience required.
• 1-3 years of adult education professional development and technical assistance experience required.
• Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently on detailed assignments.
• Ability to write narrative reports.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software required.
