The 2024 STAR Research Review was released and can be found here. The review, an annual scan of recent research on evidence-based reading, shows the most up-to-date scholarship. This year’s review was organized in several major topics which included:
- Alphabetics
- Vocabulary
- Morphology
- Higher-Order Comprehension Skills Necessary to Become a Proficient Academic Reader
- Motivation and Awareness
I was intrigued by the article on The Effects of an Adult Literacy App on Word Decoding. At a recent conference where students were honored for completing their high school equivalency, several noted how their use of an app prepared them for test success.
How are your students using apps to help improve their reading skills?
