You Can Still Join the STAR Multi-State Cohort Until November 15!

Hi Everyone,

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) is inviting  States to participate in a multi-state cohort STudent Achievement in Reading (STAR) training  in 2024. This professional development opportunity provides evidence-based reading instruction to a cohort of states committed to supporting their educators in advancing how they support intermediate-level (Grade Level Equivalent 4 to 8.9) adult reading learners.  The cohort is scheduled to run from January through August, 2024.

The STAR training includes:

  • A 30-module curriculum that includes asynchronous modules, synchronous sessions, and group activities;
  • Regional, state, and other training structures to reach even more instructors across the country;
  • Nationally recognized certified trainers, classroom practice, peer community support, and access to research, tools, and techniques to support instructors; and
  • Content to help agencies meet the evidence-based reading instruction legislative requirement of the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA).

Please let starsupport@lincs.ed.gov know if you are interested by November 15, 2023.
