As we prepare for the school year, I am recycling this post from my colleague Eric Appleton:
I'm wondering if anyone has used the OpenSciEd materials in adult ed. There are an impressive array of materials for middle school science, which in my experience is a nice level for most adult classes. For example, there is a unit on thermal energy with videos, readings (sample), handouts, lesson plans, etc. The Chemical Reactions and Matter unit looks great too: sample reading on smell, My guess is that there is too much here for most adult ed classes, so we would have to pick and choose. I'm wondering if anyone has already tried any of this stuff.
This past year, I used some of their materials and they are really, really good. Here is the link to the resources: https://www.openscied.org/about-instructional-materials/
Happy Teaching!

I am so glad I was able to find this site. I was looking for age-appropriate science resources for GED learners. I wanted to put together a lesson plan.
Nice! So glad you found the materials useful. I post 3-5 resources every month.
