"Biotechnology!" is a free community research guide created by the Smithsonian Science Education Center (SSEC) in collaboration with the InterAcademy Partnership. It is part of the Smithsonian Science for Global Goals project. These guides use the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework, empowering students to define and implement sustainable actions.
The guide is divided into eight sections, each featuring two student tasks. These tasks cover a range of topics including food systems, materials, human health, genetic data, the environment, and security. They offer students the chance to explore diverse perspectives, enhance their research skills, and learn from scientists around the globe. While the guide includes structured planning and support for teachers, students lead their own task decisions and progress.
