ICYMI: September Reflections

Hello, Community Members,

Here are the September highlights from our community:

First, there was a resource posted on the Math and Science used in Agriculture.  This post links to resources that are available to help you design engaging lessons in your science instruction.  Next, there were some Fun Facts about Fall that were posted, since September 22/23 is the designated day for Fall.  Some more resources were made available by a community member who attended a conference in Arizona, #STEMontheCheap.  The biggest event of September was our first special discussion with the subject matter expert, Heidi Schuler-Jones.  She discussed Developing science lessons for adult learners, she broke down how adult education instructors can increase their ability to present and design science instruction for their learners.  There are several free resources available to you in this discussion.  Be sure to check it out and post your thoughts.

Call to Action: Join in the conversation on the Science COP.  Our community is a place practitioners, advocates, researchers, learners, policymakers, and others discuss mathematics and numeracy issues in adult education, including research and evidence-based practices, instructional strategies, and resources.  The community needs your expertise to create a place that is engaging and a resource for others in the field of adult education.  Let's continue our discussions here!

Sincerely,

Brooke Istas
