I found an interesting resource from American English at State: Teaching with Comics and Graphic Novels. Some of the comics were developed by ELLs outside of the United States. It includes webinars and lesson plans. Enjoy!

A graphic story by Billy Aronson, They came from DNA does a nice job. I have used it in heterogeneous grouped classes. It is a Scientific American book for young readers. I believe it is middle school reading level
